Equality & inclusion

Fair treatment, dignity and help with taking part.

Last updated: 29 September 2026

Treating people fairly

We aim to make our activities welcoming and free from discrimination, bullying and harassment. We will treat people fairly regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation.

We recognise that recovery, housing insecurity, financial pressure and previous experiences can create barriers. People should not have to disclose personal histories to be treated with dignity.

Who the course is for

The funded DJ programme is for adults aged 18 and over in recovery from substance misuse. Places depend on availability and the programme’s purpose. We will explain participation criteria and consider enquiries fairly.

Access and adjustments

Contact dnbrehab@protonmail.com to ask about access or tell us what would help you take part. This might include seating, breaks, reading support, sensory needs or another adjustment. You do not need to send a full medical history.

We will discuss reasonable adjustments and confirm what can be arranged, including with the venue where necessary. Please check step-free access and other facilities with us before travelling.

If something goes wrong

Everyone taking part should respect other people’s boundaries and avoid discriminatory language or behaviour. We will consider concerns fairly and take proportionate action to protect participation and safety.

You can use our complaints procedure or the safeguarding reporting routes.
